School's out forever! (insert Alice Cooper anthem here)

Wow. So I just officially finished my last session of my last course of post-seconday education. No more school...as in FOREVER!

Unless I want to be Master Davin or Dr. Davin, both of which, quite frankly, the modern world is sorely missing.

To be determined...

Different Valuations of Life

"I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age.

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, 'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'

He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?' 'Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either.'

Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?' I said, 'No, my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'

'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?' 'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex? 'No,' I said. 'I don't do any of those things.'

He looked at me and said, 'Then, why do you care?'"

Hawaiian Airlines - The Bags Arrive

So after calling this morning and being told "your bags are on the 8:30pm in from Maui, you can just get them at the carousel"...they, of course, were not. After more confusion and mis-communication, my bags came on the again-delayed 10:30pm flight out of Honolulu.

Then off to the long-term parking, gas station and a 3 hour drive home. Ahh...

ALOHA Hawaiian!

And Mahalo...that I don't have to deal with this again for a while...

Mahalo, Hawaiian Airlines

Mahalo for not assigning seats until our 4th request/ticket counter.

Mahalo for making us the last people to board our flight.

Mahalo for putting us three rows apart after requesting, well before those who came after, yet were boarded before us, to be seated together.

Mahalo for then being so chipper about holding us and not offering any condolences or even a smile.

Mahalo for the unpleasant flight attendants, whom probably were in need of some of the oxygen out of the fae masks. Haha

Mahalo for then forgetting to put our bags on the plane (which have my car keys and clothes in still).

Mahalo for making us the LAST people at SAN airport.

Mahalo for a great end to what was a truly fantastic vacation.

Mahalo, Hawaiian Airlines. Mahalo.

Kuaui..err Maui chickens/roosters

Well apparently they've flown the coup and the Kuaui chickens/roosters are over here in Maui, too!!! Pretty funny stuff if you ask me. Not nearly as noisy/rambunctious as the Kuaui ones though...

Not a bad scene for a driving range!

These 'Alohas' only mean goodbye!

No more schedules, flights or refunds!

..and I know why: They've been using old, slow, and guzzling 737-200s!

Another reason to love Google: Food

Ok, so we've probably all heard about the lofty expectations that now are in place when dealing with the food on Google's campuses, but this insiders look into the food situation at Google is pretty outstanding!

American to China

Last night, while driving the first leg of my to-San-Diego-and-back turn-around, I saw a sign in Long Beach off the freeway that noted American Airlines has daily non-stop flights from LAX to China. WOW, that's a pretty cool service...

...when they don't cancel 900 per day!

False advertising class-action suit anyone?

Thank you!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes (well over 100). If I haven't said thank you yet personally, don't worry...it's on its way, work has been pretty hectic in preparation for Hawaii next week, though.

So, THANK YOU!

My Birthday!

So far 32 Happy Bday's...thanks to all so far! Making me day pretty swell!

Ahh...glass in my beer!

I like my beer with some bite anyways, so it's all good for me!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boston Beer Co. (SAM) initiated a voluntary recall of select 12-ounce glass bottles of its Samuel Adams beer after quality-control inspections detected that certain bottles may contain defects that may cause small bits of glass to break off and fall into the bottle. The recall comes after routine quality control inspections at the company’s Cincinnati brewery detected defects in cer-
tain beer bottles, made by a third-party glass bottle supplier that might cause small bits of glass to break off and possibly fall into the bottle.
Boston Beer said the Cincinnati plant supplies about 25% of its bottles, but the company believes the number of bottles from this plant that actually contain glass is “significantly” less than 1%.

Now even Russia has too much money...

Apparently Russia has too much money after changing the game and capitalizing on their waterfront office properties (no big deal that they kicked out people to the curb who were living in a former rent-controlled area...it's for business!)

So now, not only did Russia just get it's first BlackBerry contract...they also are getting Maybach and Cayenne TAXIs?!?

Wow...Time to snuff up on my caviar and vodka palette, apparently.

Facebook = deadly?

It does apparently if you are in crazy Saudi Arabia, where a man caught his daughter on Facebook and shot her...fatally. WTF?!?!

Caffeine is good!

I do love my coffee (or more commonly now-a-days tea)...the taste is something I've become quite fond of, similar to beer or wine (you know, things you hated when you didn't drink them). And now, BBC reports that caffeine can block cholesterol uptake..woo hoo!
